This is just a theory (I like Prof. Langdon stories).
So, on 4th January 2009, the Google homepage had an animated doodle, that of a falling-apple. It was supposed to commemorate Sir Isaac Newton's Birthday.
According to reports, Google Chrome browser has overtaken Apple's Safari browser.
Could the apple-falling be symbolizing this ?
May be :D
